Femi looked up, surprised. You? What do you want? Benson didn’t waste a second. Stay away from Naomi.
Femi narrowed his eyes. Excuse me. I said stay away from her. Benson repeated louder this time.
Keep your dirty hands and lying lips far from her. Fei stood shocked. Who do you think you’re talking to?
Do you know who I am? I know exactly who you are, Benson said calmly.
A coward. A bully who prays on innocent girls. You think your father’s position gives you the right to threaten her?
He stepped forward. Not while I’m here. Femi laughed bitterly. You must be mad. You’re a nobody.
Do you realize I am your boss? How dare you talk to me like that?
You don’t scare me, Benson replied coldly. You can’t do anything to me. Femi pointed at him, eyes flashing with anger.
I will make sure you’re out of this company by tomorrow morning. I’ll call the headquarters myself.
You’ll be gone before the sun rises. Benson, calm and collected, smiled faintly. You can do nothing, and soon you’ll realize that.
Stay away from Naomi. If you ever harass her again, you’ll wish you were never born.
Femi stepped back. There was something in Benson’s confidence. Too bold, too steady for a junior IT assistant.
“Who exactly do you think you are?” He demanded, confusion lacing his tone. Benson didn’t answer.
Without a word, he turned and walked out of the office, leaving Femi frozen in anger and full of questions.
Naomi waited nervously in the hallway, heart racing. When she saw Benson return, she rushed to him.
“What happened? What happened?” She asked, voice trembling. Benson looked at her gently, his calm presence soothing.
“Nothing for you to worry about. I told him to leave you alone. That’s all.”
She bit her lip, fear lingering in her eyes. Solomon, what if he really gets you fired?
Benson’s soft smile reassured her. That’s impossible. Naomi studied him, sensing something unspoken. There was a power in his eyes, something bigger than the simple junior IT assistant she saw.
She didn’t question it. She simply whispered, “Thank you. I’ll always protect you no matter what it takes,” he said quietly.
That evening, Naomi sat alone in her room, lost in thoughts of Solomon. She smiled to herself, remembering how their paths had crossed unexpectedly, how he had stood up for her.
She hadn’t expected to meet someone like him when she had come to this town to escape the pressures of city life and her parents’ constant insistence on marriage.
But Solomon had changed everything. What Benson didn’t know was that Naomi wasn’t just any cleaner.
Her real name was Georgina Smith, the daughter of a self-made tech billionaire born in the wealthiest families in the country.
Privilege had been her norm. Wealth, influence, opportunity, but also pressure, especially from her mother, who had tried relentlessly to arrange a suitable marriage for her.
Most recently, they had been pushing her to meet the son of Chief Roland, one of the richest men in the city.
